farewell Photography
In those days while making the book, I was skeptical about all of photography including my own photographs. As that was the same period as just after breaking up of photography magazine "provoke", I felt unmanageable mind. The sentences - scrapping photography - nothingness of photography - were passing on my brain repeatedly and I felt an urge to take photography away to the end of the end. That meant the farewell to the photography! made of the existing aesthetic senses or meanings of undoubtedly fixed views of the world.
At the moment, I have fond memories of myself filled with overly contradicting and simplism then. A book "Farewell Photography" was cutting through my time driven by an irresistible impulse. The conversation with Takuma Nakahira for 24 hours in the midsummer which comments were at the back is memorable and this book becomes one of my favorite one.
